Implementation studies

The app tät

In order to monitor what happens when the app tät becomes generally available we will record user age, educational levels, type of residential location, and the extent of the difficulties experienced by users. Therefore the app, which can now be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Google Store, from the start contains questions about these topics. After three months, follow-up questions will be asked about the extent of the difficulties experienced and how often one has exercised. Replies to the questions are entered anonymously on our research database; these replies cannot be linked to specific users or telephone numbers. The answering of questions is entirely voluntary. The study has been approved by the research ethics committee at Umeå (Ref. no. 2014-389-32M). Read more about Privacy Policy here. If you have any questions about the study or wish to express your opinions about the app, you can contact us via e-mail at tat.am@umu.se

The booklet

We would like to examine the treatment effects obtained via the booklet in various contexts; in part when the booklet is distributed by midwives, in part when it is downloaded directly from us via the Internet. We would also like to know the age, education, and type of residential location of those who use the booklet, and the extent of the difficulties they have experienced.  The study has been approved by the research ethics committee at Umeå (Ref. no. 2015-79-32M)

The Internet programme

In order to assess the Internet-based treatment in everyday clinical practice we are now ”adapting” the programme to a technically advanced platform in collaboration with the Department of Computing Science at Umeå University.

The platform, which is known as ACKTUS (Activity-Centered Modeling of Knowledge and Interaction Tailored to users), allows the creation of unique, individually tailored solutions for each participant.

We will examine how the programme is used and what effects it has when used in different clinical contexts and in different languages. An international collaboration has been initiated. The programme has been developed on the new platform and the study will be completed during autumn 2017.
